Effect of Herb and Spice Nutraceuticals on Body Weight and Blood Pressure

Trial Name

Effect of Herb and Spice Nutraceuticals on Body Weight and Blood Pressure.

Background Information

Herbs and spices are rich sources of phytochemicals, many of which are biologically active with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-hypertensive effects (Rubio et al., 2013). As a result, some herbs and spices may be classed as a functional food, with a range of health benefits beyond basic nutrition.

This research study is a six month intervention program that aims to clinically investigate the effect of culinary herbs and spices on body weight and blood pressure.

Participants are required to attend ten appointments over the six months duration of the study. Participants will receive a free body composition assessment, nutritional analysis, and a 6 months’ supply of herb and spice capsules.
